PICSHA Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed to extend the possibilities inherent in the current wave of digital technologies, realized by blending with the knowledge of human science, to guide design and integrate proven methods.
We build tools and methods, proving, iterating and demonstrating in a range of practical projects.
Human science tells us that cultural development is partially random, that our present cultural framework – although very real – has come into being largely to operate successfully within conditions which no longer dominate to the extent they once did; that new conditions now apply – requiring new cultural infrastructure.
This science also tells us how “culturally sensitive” we are as a species, picking up subtle cues and integrating them automatically into our default view of the world, and thus opening new patterns of behavior, relationships, connections. Open digital can therefore act as a “representational tool” – providing local cues – shaping local cultures.
We are always looking for new connections in this work, people and groups interested in these ideas, working in networks, institutions or government, or working on developing some related aspect of this work.
If this is you, please get in touch.
